Thanksgiving 2009

So, the new camera did, in fact, break, so we're onto another new camera. I compared a lot of cameras and really like what I ended up with. So, now that the camera is back, I've got a few pictures from the last couple of days.

Here's "big girl" Sadie in her new bed. She loves it!

And, this really is exactly what she does EVERY NIGHT when we put her in bed. She hasn't tried to get out for bedtime at all. However, naptime is a different story...

Morgan requested oatmeal for breakfast the other day and asked if she could put blueberries in it. Then, she posed for this cute picture at the table.
And, as we had told everyone, since we didn't have Thanksgiving plans, we totally cheated and ordered Boston Market, complete with the plates and plasticware so there was NO CLEANUP!!! I highly recommend it!

The only drawback was the cornbread. As you can see, Sadie needs a little bit more practice actually eating it. I wonder if she got any in her mouth...
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

In Her Own Words...

Thursday, before Preschool, I told Morgan that she needed to bringing something to show and tell that she was thankful for.
Me: "Morgan, what are you thankful for?"
Morgan: (she thought a moment) "Life."
Me (thinking to myself): Okay, you're three. Don't get philosophical on me yet!
Me (talking to Morgan again): "Well, we can't really bring life to preschool. It needs to be something you can bring and show to the kids. Can you think of something else you're thankful for?"
Morgan: "I am thankful for the letter P. It goes "puh, puh, puh."
Me: "Well, let's keep thinking some more."
We brought bunny for show and tell.

What's Wrong With This Picture???

We'll give you a few days to figure it out...

She's All Growed Up!

Sadie slept in her big girl bed last night!

On a whim, Brian said, "Let's put Sadie down in her bed." So, we did. And, she slept--ALL NIGHT! She didn't fall out! And, she didn't get out of bed when she woke up in the morning! I'd have a picture of our big girl in her bed, but the camera broke AGAIN and we haven't bought a new one yet.

She's so proud to be just like her big sister! Her face lit up when she climbed up onto her bed last night!

Boyfriends

I stole part of this post from my friend Shelley's blog. But, I figured it would be okay, since my daughter is the girlfriend of interest.

A girlfriend at 3?!?!?!?!?!?
So upon picking Edison up from nursery today, we were informed that he had is arm around a cute little girl named Morgan and that they KISSED!!! WHAT?!? (not sure what kind of kiss and where but still) He was asking for her a couple days ago too? Huh, I'm not really sure what to think about that.

When Brian went in for singing time in nursery on Sunday, he confirmed that Edison, indeed, had his arm around Morgan while they were sitting in their chairs, listening to the lesson. And, Morgan has informed us that they "announced" that they were boyfriend/girlfriend in nursery, too. Okay, how do 3 year olds "announce" a relationship??? Oh, how I'd love to be a fly on the wall in nursery!

What to do?? What to do??

Happy Birthday!

Yep. Brian turned the big 2-8 yesterday so we celebrated! Here's the girls helping him open his presents.

The "Y" is lit for special occasions like back to school, homecoming, graduation, and now, Brian's birthday.

Happy Birthday, Sweetie! We love you!

Playing Catch Up

With starting work again, plus Morgan being in preschool, I don't have any free time anymore! (As if you haven't noticed my lack of posts in the last 2 weeks) Anyway, here are some cute shots of what the girls have been up to.

Sadie LOVES the little rocking chair. She especially loves standing on it, so it probably spends more time in time out than she actually gets to sit in it. Some day she'll learn, right?

Although Morgan dressed up like an elephant for Halloween, she also found the fairy princess costume in the Halloween box. She spends most all of her time at home in this outfit--complete with wings, wand, and the sheer skirt. I've given up on trying to explain that dress up clothes go OVER your clothes.
Somehow she even managed to get the fairy wings into her car!

I think this is my new all-time favorite of Sadie. She's decided to get dressed (with Daddy's help), in Morgan's clothes and sunglasses and come to find me for a picture. That grin is her saying, "Cheese!"

It's Always Fun When Grandpa (and Grandma) Comes!

My parents are planning a trip to visit us in January. To say Morgan is excited is an understatement. She keeps asking when they are coming. And, she understands "time" in order of events. So, rather than tell her what will happen every day until the middle of January, I decided to make a chain with her. It's pretty long, but she remembers every day to take a circle off. In fact, she says, "Mommy, it's not 15 any more (meaning Nov. 15). We need to take off the 15. Today is 16."

And, to keep Sadie from helping herself to our countdown chain, it is currently being hung on the valance in the living room. Attractive, huh?

Better Late than Never

Here's documentation that we celebrated Halloween in 2009. We went to the ward Trunk or Treat and had lots of fun!

At first, Sadie, our sweet little Lady Bug, seemed to be more into walking around, eating her peanut butter sandwich, than getting candy.
Morgan Elephant (she doesn't like us to call her Morgan Rae anymore), knew exactly what to do--"Trunk or Treat! Thank You!" And then, leave your little sister behind in the dust while hurrying to the next trunk!

Sadie, eventually figured out the concept. Only, she wouldn't let anyone near her bag! Give the candy directly to her and she would insure it made it safely inside her bag.

And, here's the best "group shot" I could get. I needed a side view of Morgan to get the complete elephant, and a back view to get Sadie's wings. And, Brian, in the middle, to keep them in position for the photo.

Here's Sadie's favorite part of Halloween. I can't begin to tell you how many times a day I heard this sound. When will the batteries die???
