How In The World

Did these girls share a bed at my parents house???  For nine months!?!?!

Here's Sadie, our delicate sleeper.  Never moves around much, and has only fallen out of bed because she's been pushed out by her sister.  We usually find her in the same position as we put her in the night before.

Then, there's Morgan.  Upside down, backwards, sideways, hanging halfway off the bed...you name it, we've found her in very unusual sleeping arrangements.  Let's just say, I'm glad I'm not the one making her bed every morning.  (It's bad enough I have to comb her hair after her crazy sleep!  I need to remember to braid it!)

But, somehow, or another, they sleep (most of the time).  And, that's the goal, right?

Sweet Dreams!

Happy Birthday to...

...all 3 kids!

Okay, we've had lots going on, and I have lots of pictures to document it all, just not any time to download them to the computer and put together some posts.  So, those will have to wait.  But, I had a minute, so I thought I would do this one post.

All three of our kids have birthdays within 5 weeks.  Add mine a week later, and our anniversary 2 weeks after that and, aside from Brian's November birthday, all of our "family" celebrations fall within an 8 week time slot.  That makes for a lot of partying, and a lot of cake!

So, my sister, Courtney, had a great idea that we should just celebrate all the birthdays at once with Grammy Tammy and Papa Dale, rather than have them come up 3 separate times (which, I'm sure they would love to do, but, with all the family events this summer, their schedule was filling up fast!).  And, that's exactly what we did.

We had BBQ (seems to be a staple with the Ginos' these days!), and I made a pan of brownies and cut out a shape for each of the kids (Morgan, flower; Sadie, butterfly; Carson, Dinosaur) and decorated it with whip cream (freshly whipped...yumm!).  And, I wish I would have thought to do this for my girls' first birthday "cakes", because Carson just picked it up and ate it!  Almost mess free (note: almost.  We're still talking about Carson, here)!

We ended the evening with a walk to the park down the street, where the girls made sand pizza, Carson ate the sand, and Sadie licked the grass to wipe the sound out of her mouth.  Never a dull moment at our house!

Carson wasn't quite sure what to think as his sisters started blowing out candles.

As soon as we gave him his brownie, he dove right in!

Thanks for coming up, Grammy and Grandpa!

The First of Many...

When we went to my ultrasound before Carson was born, Brian was elated to find out we were having a boy!  He said, "I finally get to go to a Father/Son Outing!"  I didn't think much of it at the time.  But, this past weekend, Brian took Carson.  I wouldn't let them spend the night (Brian thinks I was being mean and unreasonable), but, they stayed until 10 pm and were back at the beach at 7 am the next morning.

They both had a blast!  And, all Brian had to say about it was: "If you knew how much I let him play in the dirt, and how dirty he got, you wouldn't be happy!"  So, I'm just pretending I never heard that, and, after the shower, my two boys were nice and clean again!

He started out clean!

And, somehow (remember, I didn't hear anything), he got dirty.

When they came home, he was so exhausted from playing so hard!

Donuts for breakfast!

Hanging out on the beach.

Just chillin' on the rocks.

After a nice shower, he fell right asleep in Daddy's arms!

If You Give a Carson a Cookie...

...You're going to get a HUGE smile!  (Along with a HUGE mess!)

We made cookies for the moms in Joyschool last week!  As you can see from his face, Carson was a fan!

Is this how movie stars sleep?

As I was downloading pics from the last few weeks, I came across this:

Our "Little Miss Hollywood", sound asleep with her sunglasses on!  She was so, so tired after a long day "at BBQ" with Papa Dale and Grammy Tammy!

Washing Dishes

They were quite soapy and wet, but had lots and lots of fun washing "their" dishes--all the food and dishes from the play kitchen needed a good scrub last week!

I'm Going to Miss This

Oh, how I'm going to miss these times.  For two reasons.  One, because I'm starting to realize that my babies are growing up and they won't be little much longer!  And, two, because in just a few weeks, the Jones' are moving!  We're so glad we have been able to spend this past (almost) year living so close and having so much fun!

Recently, Carson and Jack have really started to "play" together when we get together with the Jones'.   It's been fun to watch mellow Jack perk up and take control when he plays with his cousin.  He's obviously realized that he's in charge when he plays with Carson.

I think my favorite thing has to be when Jack walks up to Carson, sitting on the floor, stares at his head, rubs it, then looks at us onlookers as if to say, "What's wrong with it?" because Carson has very little hair.

Easter Pics

I didn't get any pics of the girls with their baskets.  There wasn't anything exciting this year, anyway.  New clothes that were much overdue and Sadie got a new book.  Morgan noted that the shirt in her Easter basket looked "just like" the one she wore for school pictures last year.  (Yes, I let her wear it one day for pictures, then put it back in her new clothes for spring stack and, leave it to her to remember.  I guess I had it coming.)  But, she didn't verbally make any mention regarding how said garment made it back to her Easter basket via a oversized, fluffy cottontail.  I guess it's just magic!

Anyway, here's Carson enjoying his new clothes--especially the tags to chew on!

"We Goed On A Vacation!"

That's what Sadie said today.  Yesterday, during our drive home, all she would say over and over and over and over was, "I don't wanna go on a vacation never again! "  We kind of had a rough drive home.  I'll spare details, but we ended up washing lots of clothes and carseats when we got home last night.

But, before the rough drive home, we all had a FABULOUS time!  Thanks for letting us come, Hancocks!

Everyday Stuff

Carson figured out there's something staring back at him in the fireplace glass!

Sadie wanted a "princess crown" and I guess she didn't want to go upstairs to get one.  Instead, she cut one with paper and GLUED it to her head!  Yes, she GLUED it to her forehead!  Thank goodness Elmer's glue sticks aren't permanent!
